Zancudo Boat Tours

At Cabinas Los Cocos, we also own and run the two boats of Zancudo Boat Tours. We provide transportation to and from Golfito and Puerto Jimenez. We offer several boat tours in the area, and here are some of our more popular tours:

Rio Coto River Tour

Susan can do a spectacular River Tour, about 2.5 hours for $75 per person, $250 minimum. Up to 6 people. The wide calm river offers great birding, crocodiles and monkeys. Susan will tell you about the plants, the history of the area, and the dynamics of our tiny spot in the world. After about 30 minutes on the big river, with cattle and palm, we take a small waterway into the jungle, close up views of orchids, fascinating trees, vines and birds. It’s always a beautiful few hours, and you learn a lot about our area, how It was developed by the now defunct Banana Company, and what is happening now agriculturally, and in our treasured rainforest.

Kayaking

At LOS COCOS, we rent kayaks and paddle boards. It’s lovely to paddle out into the bay, in the morning before the breeze picks up.

Susan can set up other tours for our guests – Waterfall Hike, Drive to Pavones (the famous rainforest surf spot., Sportsfishing, and custom trips, like a boat trip around the bay for dolphins.
